Privacy & cookies
AirTimes is a calendar of TV episodes built from Wikipedia. It needs to remember one thing about you — the colours you choose for shows — and nothing else. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party cookies.
This notice is written for visitors in the EU/EEA, the UK and anywhere else with similar rules. Last updated 23 September 2026.

What is stored, and why
| Name | What it holds | Why | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID |
A random session id | Keeps the site working during your visit (form checks, your colour edits) | Until you close the browser |
airtimes_uid |
A random id — no name, no email, nothing about you | Looks up your colour choices so other visitors keep their own | 400 days |
airtimes_consent |
Your answer to this notice ("1" or "0") | So you are not asked again | 400 days |
| Colour profile users/<id>.json |
The shows you gave a colour, and the colours themselves | So your colours follow you to the next page and the next visit | Until you delete it, or 400 days without a visit |
We never store your IP address with your profile — the counters that stop spam are kept separately and expire within an hour.
What we do not do
- No accounts, no passwords, no sign-up.
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting.
- No profiling and no automated decisions about you.
- No selling or sharing of anything with data brokers.
- No third-party cookies — the only cookies here are the three listed above.
Other people involved
Episode titles, dates, summaries and poster images come from Wikipedia/Wikimedia. When a page shows a poster, your browser requests that image directly from Wikimedia's servers, so Wikimedia sees your IP address and browser as the provider of the image — their privacy policy applies to that request. Your hosting provider also processes standard server logs (this is usual for any website; ask your host for their retention period).
Your choices and rights
Colours are the only thing tied to you, and you can look at them, take them with you, or erase them entirely — no request to anybody required:
- See them: My colours lists every colour you have chosen (0 at the moment).
- Take them with you (portability): download your colours as a small markdown file.
- Change your mind about cookies: . Choosing "Essential only" stops AirTimes storing anything on your device.
- Erase everything ("right to be forgotten"): the button below deletes your profile file, both cookies and your session on the spot.
Blocking cookies in your browser
Every browser lets you refuse cookies, delete the ones already stored, or browse privately. If you block them, the calendar, search, adding shows and the colour picker all still work — colours simply will not be remembered after you close the tab.
Legal basis (GDPR article 6)
The session cookie is strictly necessary to deliver the pages you ask for (art. 6(1)(b) —
performing the service you requested). The colour cookie and profile store a preference you
chose yourself, which is what makes them functional rather than tracking (art. 6(1)(f) — our
legitimate interest in providing the feature you used, and easily withdrawn at any time).
This site runs in notice mode: the functional cookie is used straight away and
this notice tells you exactly what it does. Switch to consent-first behaviour with
'cookie_consent' => 'consent' if your situation calls for it.
